Description

Pixinsight Process:
Image Integration: Integrate flats and dark frames.
Image Calibration: Calibrate the flats and darks into the light frames.
Star Alignment: Align light frames in LRGB to a single frame.
Blink: Allows to pick out the bad frames with lights from cars, planes, or just plain old nasty haze.
ImageIntegration: Integrate LRGB images
Drizzle Integration: 2x drizzle with Kernal Function: VarShape, B=1.5
Dynamic Crop[b]:[/b] Crop all images to take stacking artifacts out.
Dynamic Background Extraction: Samples per row: 20, Adjust the tolerance and remove points too close to nebulocity. (Only ran on Oiii data because Ha and Sii would produce unwanted noise.)
EZ Soft Stretch: Run basic settings on EZ Soft Stretch
NoiseXTerminator: Use NoiseXTerminator to reduce noise of the image
Histogram Transformation: Normal stretch on the histogram
Channel Combination: Combine RGB files
Color Calibration: Calibrate RGB data
SCNR: SCNR Green, takes out the green noise.
Curves Transformation: Normal S curve to boost contrast
Convolution: Convolution helps reduce noise when combining the luminance data into the RGB files.
LRGB Combination: Apply luminance stack to RGB data with chrominance noise reduction checked.
Color Saturation: Applying luminance takes some of the saturation away, so I always add more saturation afterwards.
Starnet2: After stretching Oiii data, run starnet to not get odd colored stars.
GAME Script: Use the GAME Script to create a circular mask around the planetary nebula to not disturb the galaxies.
PixelMath: Run PixelMath to add the Oiii to the image. (Red: $T, Green: 0.5*$T+0.5*Oiii, Blue: 0.3*$T+0.7*Oiii) ($T is the image being applied to, in this case, the LRGB data)
ColorSaturation: Stretch the blues and cyans to bring the nebula color out more.
PixelMath: Add stars back into the LRGB image ($T+Stars)
Resample: Resample 50% for a shareable image.
